Healing Yoga Workshops

From the Forrest style of Hatha Yoga, instructor Richard Bird guides students and teachers of all levels through the process of healing injuries and releasing pain.

Practiced consciously, Yoga can be a powerful source for releasing pain and healing injuries.

Most importantly, you don't want to try and "stretch" the pain out!  Stretching improperly or in the wrong direction just aggravates the injury and prolongs the pain and healing.

Every pain and injury is as unique as the individual and should be treated as such.  What works for one person may not work for another.

There are exercises and postures which are recommended and ones which are contra-indicated.

Pain and injuries (besides the structural component and holding patterns) are often energy (stress) which has found a home and is living in your body.

To feel, heal or bring an area of the body more fully alive you need to get breath and energy into the area.

In each experiential workshop you will learn:

  • To access your pain or injury
  • To address it with a healing attitude, work postures to release the pain, support and heal the area
  • What postures not to use or are contra-indicated for your challenge
  • How to modify postures so you don't go into pain but are still effective
  • How to work in your yoga practice and daily life so that you continue your healing and remain pain and injury-free

Workshops will be catered to the specific challenges of the participants as it relates to the workshop topic.

Each workshop is 2 hours in length (but give yourself a little extra time if class runs just a little over).  Registration is limited to 7. Pre-registration is required.  Separate registration is required for each Workshop.

Workshops are held at the Aspen Yoga Co-op, 465 N. Mill Street #9-B, in Aspen.

All Classes, Workshops and Intensives Canceled until further notice.
